Norton County Hospital now offers virtual rehabilitation

September 14, 2022

NORTON, Kan. – For the convenience and preference of patients, Norton County Hospital is pleased to offer contact-less, personalized online rehabilitation appointments. The new program is based on a partnership with TheraNow, an on-demand therapist program.

“The NCH Rehab department is excited about this new platform to better serve our patients,” said Kellen Jacobs, DPT, NCH Rehabilitation Manager. “Our staff already does a tremendous job in offering high-quality care to our patients face to face, and this new technology will allow us to expand on that. It will give us the opportunity to deliver great patient care right to the patient.”

Norton County Hospital understands that patients may be more inclined to keep a virtual therapy appointment when obstacle keeps them from physically coming to an appointment. Patients can choose to do all virtual appointments or create a hybrid model blending in-person and virtual visits. Those who are interested in virtual rehabilitation will need access to a smartphone, tablet or computer. The appointment will take place with a staff member from Norton County Hospital’s Rehabilitation department.

“I can see this being a tremendous benefit to our region for several reasons,” Jacobs said. “We can offer great care to those who may be limited due to transportation, if they travel for work, if there is inclement weather, if they want to limit their exposure during potential COVID or flu surges, or even if they are stay-at-home parents who can’t get away due to child care issues. All of these scenarios we can assist with, and our patients can continue to keep their appointments and see improvements with whatever their issues are.”

Patients who are interested in a virtual appointment can call Norton County Hospital’s Rehabilitation department as usual at 785-874-2222 and request a virtual appointment. From there, the patient will be connected to a patient liaison with TheraNow, a Texas-based company, who will ensure the proper technology is set up for the appointment. Questions about Norton County Hospital’s new virtual rehabilitation services can also be directed to 785-874-2222.
