Medical Coder — Full Time On-Site

Norton County Hospital has a full-time, on-site employment opportunity for a Medical Coder. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Must be detail-oriented, a team player, self-motivated, and have excellent communication and computer skills. Qualified applicate must have high school diploma/GED. Training is available to this position. Preferred qualifications include post-secondary degree or experience in medical records, medical terminology, medical coding, or claims/billing for a medical office.

Grant Coordinator – Part Time (full time potential)

Norton County Hospital has a career opportunity for a Grant Coordinator. The part-time position is funded by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Pathways to a Healthy Kansas program, which is aimed at improving healthy lifestyles and creating healthy places using a community-wide approach. Norton County was selected as one of the designated Pathways communities in 2020, which allows for the creation and enhancement of community health projects. There is potential for this position to become full time with the addition of assisting with grant and community engagement projects specifically related to the Norton County Hospital.

Surgery Scrub Technologist/Operating Room Technician — Full Time

Norton County Hospital has a full-time employment opportunity for a Scrub Tech/Operating Room Technician. Previous health care experience preferred and training is available for this position.

Primary responsibilities for Operating Room Technician include but are not limited to assisting with pre-operative cleaning of surgery equipment, assisting with cleaning and preparing operating room between patients, restocking surgical supplies and maintaining clean work area.

Primary responsibilities for Scrub Technologist include but are not limited to assisting surgeon with prepping patient, assisting during surgical procedures, post-op dressings and preparing for recovery room, preparing surgical specimen for laboratory and post-op disinfection.

Hospital Maintenance — Full Time

Norton County Hospital has an employment opportunity for a full-time Maintenance staff in our Engineering Department. This position assists with grounds keeping, maintenance, upkeep and repair of the building. On-the-job training is provided in areas such as climate control, plumbing, water, natural gas, electrical, mechanical, medical gas, communications, carpentry, painting, plastering, refinishing and facility equipment. This position will share in the on-call schedule for the department. Previous building maintenance experience preferred. Norton County Hospital has a full-time position available for a CNA or Certified Medical Assistant in the Norton Medical Clinic. Primary responsibilities include assisting providers, collecting vital statistics and reason for patient visit, and maintaining the electronic medical record for patients. Opportunity for on-the-job training as a Scribe as well. Normal schedule is Monday-Friday during Clinic hours. The position will be full-time Monday through Friday, with 8-10 hours daily between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and will participate in the Saturday morning schedule rotation, no holidays. This is an opportunity to work with acute care, surgical, and skilled levels of care in a progressive hospital. This position also does patient registration. Full-time positions include a rotating weekend and holiday schedule. Acute care shifts are 12-hour shifts.

Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) — Full Time

Norton County Hospital has an immediate, full-time career opportunity for a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW). The LSCSW will provide quality clinical behavioral health services including comprehensive diagnostic behavioral health assessments, interventions, education, advocacy, referrals and consultations primarily for patients of Norton Medical Clinic. Candidate will also provide services for Norton County Hospital and community partners, as needed.

Housekeeping — Full Time or Part Time

Norton County Hospital has a full-time or part-time employment opportunity in our Environmental Services department. Environmental Services staff are responsible for cleaning all areas of the hospital, clinic and facilities. The full-time position is scheduled 8-hour shifts and has rotating weekend and holiday schedules which include differential pay. Shift start times will vary based on duties assigned.
