Our mission: Norton County Hospital meets the evolving health care needs of our region and provides an exceptional staff and patient experience to empower health and wellness at any stage of life.

The Norton County Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital and Level IV trauma center, and along with the Norton Medical Clinic, provides medical services for residents in Norton County and surrounding northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska communities. We have 130 dedicated and skilled employees to assist our medical providers in all levels of inpatient care, a full range of outpatient ancillary services and several visiting physician specialty clinics. We appreciate the support we receive from our patients and the communities we serve.

Norton County Hospital Change in Administration

At the May 17th meeting, the Norton County Hospital (NCH) Board of Trustees made a motion to release Chief Executive Officer Brian Kirk from his contract effective immediately. Brian Kirk will be available remotely for 90 days to provide any information needed. NCH Rehabilitation Manager Kellen Jacobs will serve as the Interim CEO.

Norton County Hospital Physician Resignations

Norton County Hospital has accepted the voluntary resignations of Miranda McKellar, M.D., and Theresia Neill, M.D. Both physicians have decided it is in their best interest, as well as in the best interest of the Hospital and the Norton community, to explore other employment opportunities. Dr. McKellar, Dr. Neill, and Norton County Hospital have coordinated to ensure a smooth transition of care for affected patients. Norton County Hospital would like to thank Dr. McKellar and Dr. Neill for their three years of service to the community and wish them success in their next employment endeavors. Dr. McKellar and Dr. Neill would like to thank the Norton community, and wish Norton County Hospital continued success.

NCH Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes & Agendas now available

Norton County Hospital has now added the approved Board of Trustees meeting minutes to their website ntcohosp.com along with the meeting agendas. Please keep in mind these minutes are not approved until the next regular meeting is held. Regular meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the facility’s conference room. These files are uploaded as scanned PDFs to ensure accuracy. Also, please note that the meeting agendas are subject to change after being posted to the website up until the time of the meeting. The Board of Trustees and administration hope to answer questions from the community by providing these details.

Norton County Hospital announces Memorial Day closings

Norton County Hospital would like to inform the public of upcoming closings for Memorial Day. Norton Medical Clinic and Norton County Hospital business and administration offices will be closed Monday, May 29th in observance of the holiday. Norton Medical Clinic will be open Saturday, May 27th for walk-in appointments from 9 am. - 11:30 a.m. Please plan appointments, prescription fills and consultations with clinic staff accordingly. Patients may contact Norton Medical Clinic at 785-877-3305.
